Since the charter night in 2003, the club and its many members have donated thousands of volunteer hours and monies towards community needs and charities. For many years, the Rotary Club of Blue Ridge has sponsored the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy in Fannin County. This program provides an age appropriate book each month to children from birth to the age of five. We are currently sponsoring almost 350 children in Fannin County. In recent years, we have sponsored Snack in a Backpack, Empty Stocking, and Shop with a Cop, to name a few. We have been able to continue assisting these organizations through our many fundraising events: The Rotary Blues Train, Rotary Resolution 5K, Rotary Golf Tournaments, and Raffles. We have sponsored an overseas GRSP Student to attend and experience one of our local colleges each year.

Rotary Club of Blue Ridge will continue providing service- in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. All the while, maintaining our four way test of the things we think, say and do:

  • Is it the Truth?
  • Is it Fair to all Concerned?
  • Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  • Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Constantly reminding ourselves of our Rotary Motto “Service Above Self”
